Mark Arminski

Artist Biography
Arminski started to create rock posters while still in high school. Inspired by local rock poster legends, like Gary Grimshaw (famous for his Grande Ballroom and MC5 posters) and Carl Lundgren (famous for posters for The Who and Jefferson Airplane). Distinctive features of Arminski’s posters include bold color, carefully crafted lettering, and a careful use of shading and light (also seen in his etching and canvass works as well). Not wanting to be pigeon-holed into a single discipline, Arminski has pushed himself to create whimsical and sometimes controversial art - that is never boring. Mark can recreate a "classic" for a mural in a posh Motown bistro, or body paint a living female model in front of cheering onlookers - without missing a beat. His career continues to flourish, thanks to the interest of and commissions by new rock personalities like Kid Rock, but also by his fine art which tip-toe’s the line between titillation and fear, magic and ecstasy, and the sacred and profane. Now it is not just "rock art" aficionados who are fond of and who collect Arminski’s work.
