Artist Biography
Amy Chenier was born in Escanaba, Michigan. Painting since age six, Chenier never had a formal painting lesson although she has studied fine arts at Middle Tennessee State University and Wayne County Community College. She has received numerous regional and international awards for her artwork. Her favorite artists include Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Francis Bacon, and Lucien Freud. Forming the concepts and images in her paintings are philosophy, science, music and pop culture. Many of her more recent paintings have scientific formulas or the atomic build-up of whatever the subject of her painting may be at the time. Having a competitive spirit and always in training, Chenier holds a second degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
