George R. Graveldinger

Artist Biography
George Graveldinger is a prolific artist who has won many awards and prizes for his originals paintings. He graduated from The Society for Arts and Crafts where he was a scholarship student. After serving in the Korean War, he was employed as an industrial sculptor for the Chrysler Corporation. During these years he spent much of his free time painting , sculpting in clay and wood, and doing pen and ink drawings even during his lunch hour. His love of form and color is obvious in his work as well as his passion for life in general. He spends most his time outdoors, painting, gardening , landscaping , and camping. This intimacy with nature is reflected in his paintings and sculptures.

Mr. Graveldinger took an early retirement from his job as a clay modeler so that could follow his dream to become a full time fine artist. Since then he has had his paintings in many juried shows and has won numerous awards including First Place in the Scarab Club Gold Medal Exhibition, First Place in the Algonac Art Fair, First Place in the Orion Art Competition and First Place in the Summit Place Mall Competition. He won Second places in the Scarab Club Silver Medal, etc.

Most of his paintings are done with acrylic applied to canvas. He is equally comfortable painting nudes, landscapes, and expressionistic portraits. He enjoys experimenting with different styles and applications of mediums. His work is deeply emotional.

All his work is original with no copies to date. His work appears in collections across the globe.
