Nancy Pitel
An award winning fine art and advertising artist , Nancy Pitel's art career spans over 30 years starting with a piece commissioned for an attorney's office when she was twelve. Her works include portraits; multi-media and oil paintings; wall murals; book, publicity and ad illustration. She is the former Executive Director and Executive Board Member of the prestigious Scarab Club of Detroit. Pitel has also held the positions of manager of Wayne Eagle Graphics, manager of the advertising composition department at Associated Newspapers and advertising layout artist for the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers.
Pitel's paintings have been in numerous gallery exhibitions including Detroit's Gem Theatre Invitational. Her piece, "Parting the Veils" is now traveling the country as part of Menopause the Musical's accompanying art exhibit.
The June 2005 STRUT Magazine featured her portrait, "Mika's Freedom", on the cover with a featured story about the creation of the painting.
Pitel's current works in the "Another view of Realism" exhibit, are symbolistic dream images burned into wood panel with hot electrical wire, then painted as an acrylic painting.

"I believe art is for everyone----one doesn't need understand the nuances to enjoy it. If the art is good, it will bring about remembered feelings and thoughts; if the art is great it will create new feelings and encourage new thinking that the viewer has never experienced before."
